Field of Light

( Summary )

Field of Light was a large scale lighting installation developed by Algorithm for the Enchanted Lights family event at Kildare Village.

Consisting of 10,000 addressable LED lights, a touchscreen podium and immersive sound system, the installation invited visitors to play with a stylised map of the area to create spectacular lighting effects and manipulate the gentle winter soundscape. The installation also regularly switched to a scheduled light show, synchronised with original music by Ian Nyquist & Oli Hazely and a beam show in the adjacent chapel ruins.

I was responsible for designing and building the touchscreen interface, the interactive lighting effects, the scheduling system and for programming the LED portion of the scheduled light show.
